Gaia’s Energy Field: The Nine Crystalline Bands Explained.

As a Gaia Method Earthways Healer, you learn to work within layers of the earth’s crystalline field. Three are below ground: the deep iron core; the liquid outer core, and the water that runs in the earth’s crust as rivers, aquifers, etc. These three layers are the energies that form quartz.

Most quartz forms in either igneous rock (formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava) or in environments with geothermal waters. It contains the creative energy of the Earth. It also has a consciousness, a collective field of awareness, an elemental energy. Moving to the surface of the Earth, the energies of the Mother become more crystalline in energy, as if she is using the creative energies of lava and water in their crystalline form and extending them around herself in a body of crystalline light.

The following is a channelling I received last year about crystal energy:

Crystals are encoded with the energy of creation. Used as transmitters, modifiers, harmonisers, and balancers, they regulate the crystalline energy of Human consciousness, especially when we, as humans, are aligned with the Earth’s purpose and Being. Crystals allow a certain vibration, or information frequency, to be transmitted through the airwaves to the receiver. Crystals formed as the Earth formed over millions of years and therefore hold the energetic memory of Earth’s creation. They are the perfect transmitters of that frequency.

Because we, too, are all made from the Earth, crystals help us anchor our higher awareness into the physical body, keeping us fully anchored in space and time, just as stone circles do in certain locations. If you were to imagine that you were a crystal, that inside you are crystalline. You could pick up the energy vibrations of the Earth, translating them into other frequencies which the mind, body and emotional bodies could receive. As a crystal, you would be in constant contact with every other crystal in the world and could petition your crystal family for extra help when needed, such as when you needed more clarity of purpose. Your crystal family would help and support your endeavours, especially when you are working deep in the layers of humanity and the Earth. The crystals keep us clearly focused on what we must do, and therefore, as long as we maintain that connection, all will be well. 

The Crystalline layers.

The first three layers, which are beneath the surface of the earth, are:

1) The Black Core of the Earth. This often appears as dense black and is the magnetic centre of the planet. In terms of the dragon dimension, this is represented by the Black Dragon and the black dragon lines, and is the domain of the red and black spider.

2) The Red Lava layer. This is the layer of fire energies, the liquid layer of the planet. The Red Dragon and the red energy lines are part of this layer and are also part of the red and black spider energies. Each layer works within other dimensions, each of which affects the other. The red and black energy lines are the red and black spider and form her lines of silken web. The twin energies of Earth’s creation, the twin dragons, are the creative energies of the lava and the core. Those energies can move to the surface of the Earth, like lava flowing from a volcano.

3) The Blue Water layer. This is the water that comes from above, and that has seeped deep into the earth, creating underground lakes and rivers. In the dragon dimension, the blue dragon is active here. It comes to the world as rain and soaks through the soil and rock, creating underground lakes and streams. It is a primal creative energy, but one that comes from the Earth’s atmosphere rather than from within the Earth itself. Like the infinity symbol, the blue dragon flows from the skies to the Earth and back again in a cycle. As underground water, the blue layer is also a creative energy. The combination of lava and water creates land.

Those are the primal, physical creation energies of the planet, from which all that we know is born. Once we arrive on the surface of the Earth, the frequencies change to crystalline frequencies. The physical manifestations of Earth’s creative forces.

4) The fourth band is Emerald (the Green Dragon in the Dragon dimension) and contains the surface of the earth and all its vegetation, including trees. It is the energy of growth, of life and all growing things. This is the band that still contains the creative energy of the lower three layers, but where it shifts to crystalline. It is as if the crystalline bands support the earth. The inner level energy expands into the outer levels. These higher frequencies are the energetic forces of the higher aspects of Mother Earth.

5) The Ruby layer. The layer of the Mother’s Divine Love is akin to her emotional body. The ruby band provides access to the crystalline love of Mother Earth, bringing it to earth in certain locations that serve as receptacles for this energy. The ruby/magenta energy then travels through the earth grid, connecting to other sites. It is a higher level of love that feeds and nurtures the world reminding us of the Mother’s Love.

6) At the upper edge of the ruby band, there is a thinner sapphire layer. This is the masculine energy of the Mother’s heart. It is an active principle with a more focused masculine intent. It provides a bridge between the Ruby and the next band, the Diamond.

7) The Diamond band. This is the layer of pure thought. It is a fifth-dimensional energy. It is the realm of NOW; of the present moment, where all things come into being. At this level, you exist outside time and space. Your thoughts are now in the fifth dimension where you have access to the seed thoughts for humanity. The soul of humanity can anchor the new thought-forms from this diamond layer into the collective when it’s time for more extensive development, such as now.

8) The Amethyst Layer. This energetic layer is of a soft lilac light. Its frequency is of a much finer vibration, like a sparkling clear gem. It is above the Diamond layer and contains the highest thought-forms for humanity’s spiritual development. The spiritual thoughts of Mother Earth. Compassion, caring, gentleness.

9) Yellow Topaz. This is the solar realm, the energy of solar radiation, which affects the vibration of the Earth. It is the highest level of the Earth’s crystalline body and the overlighting energy of the Source, bathing the Earth and all humanity in divine energy, helping them to grow into their divine Beingness. It is joy and abundance, and feeds the earth and all living things with its light.

When you work at sacred sites, you may see a band energetically represented by the crystal of that band. It will hover above the site you are working on. When I worked with the burial mounds near the cursus at Stonehenge, I remember seeing this for the first time. Above one of the larger mounds, an amethyst crystal appeared, which told me that whatever we were doing energetically brought that level of energy into our 3rd-dimensional realm. The energy present in the barrow also showed me its connection to that layer.

Sometimes, especially with the ruby layer, which begins just above the level of the trees, you may see it as a wide magenta band above the site. Or, such as at Uffington, you might find yourself in the band. There is a reason many sacred sites were constructed in high places. They were accessing those frequencies, accessing the thoughts of the Mother and sending those thoughts out through the ether to affect mankind’s thinking. Balance is always the way, and without these places and the people who live and work within them, things might be very different.

One thing we discovered when working in Banjo enclosures (Iron Age settlement sites) is that at the end of the avenue of each one, there is an energy vortex which connects directly to the magenta/Ruby layer. That energy then feeds up the avenue to fill the circular settlement. They are little sites of Mother Love. Some sites, such as hillforts, were often created within that band. Living in such a place, there was no sense of lack. This can still be experienced if you travel to sites that are within this Ruby band.

This can also happen in waterways. Certain crystalline frequencies can be anchored above them. The energy is then transmitted through the water.

One of the lovely things we discovered was that trees, in the emerald layer, often act as anchors for these crystalline bands. They hold the energy of that layer in a sphere and then transmit the energy into the surrounding countryside. They work together like telegraph poles, transmitting the information and crystalline frequencies in a joined network.

These bands can also be anchored in a Merkaba above the area they want to influence. Again, they will simply appear in your mind’s eye in that area. I remember, while still living in Luxor, seeing a diamond Merkaba hovering above the canal by the bridge in Qurna, on the West Bank. I thought it was an odd place for one to appear until I learned that the bridge was built above one of the ancient pylons from the Temple of Seti the First. When the builders of the bridge discovered the stone blocks, they quickly covered them up! But the energy was still there, and it knew exactly where things needed to be anchored.

Another way you might find yourself anchoring different layers is with the Was sceptre, if you have been attuned to it.

The head of this power object moves into one of the crystalline layers, often to anchor a flame of a particular colour. It moves down from that layer, through the flame, and then into the ground beneath it, acting as an anchor to one of the earth levels: core, lava or water. The flames are also creation energies, and all dimensions intermingle; they all work together.

Trees often act as anchors for these crystalline layers and communicate energetically with each other, transmitting information like telegraph poles. You may find that when working with trees that you find yourself bringing down a crystalline sphere which the tree will hold and channel into the atmosphere around it. This can happen with any of the crystalline bands. You may also find that more than more than one band is anchored.

There are so many ways that these crystalline bands can be brought to earth and so many ways they influence our thinking. In working with the crystalline field in this way you are effectively influencing the future development of humanity and of the planet. Stay open to the call, that urge you get to go visit a place. There might be a very good reason and it may be that there is work to do in the layers of the earth’s field. Learning to trust yourself is the biggest lesson. But the earth will teach you everything you need to know.

The Swan Initiation: Aligning with Gaia’s Feminine Currents of Transformation

This is an attunement I received while living in Ireland from my guides which led to many site-activations with swan energy. At the time, I did not realise that it was also to be used for personal transformation, and although I received the energies all at once, as a small gold headband with three swans arranged around it, I only became familiar with each one over time.

In Celtic lore, especially in Ireland, the swan is seen as a messenger between the worlds—a creature that moves between the realms of spirit, water, land and sky. It is often associated with transformation and with purity. In the Otherworld, swans appear in Irish tales as beings who carry divine messages, or guide seekers across magical thresholds. In stories such as the Children of Lir, the swan symbolises endurance and serves as a bridge to deeper spiritual truths.

My favourite childhood story was one told by Hans Christian Anderson called The Wild Swans. It tells the story of a girl who rescues her eleven brothers from a spell cast on them by their new stepmother, who is also a witch. Naturally! Having had a step-mother, I can concur, which is probably why this story resonated so much. (To her credit, my step mother, who was also Danish, did apologise many years later).

The Wild Swans.

The part of the story that felt powerful to me was where the girl had to weave eleven tunics from nettles before a certain time, and place one on each of her brothers. If she did this, they would return to human form. No matter how much the nettles stung her, and they did, she continued her weaving until, when the time was nearly up, she had completed ten and a half tunics. She managed to dress her brothers, but the youngest, with his half-finished tunic, was left with one swan’s wing when time ran out.

As usual, I did not recognise how much this story would become part of my future life. Yet, swans were always present during my childhood, swimming on the River Barrow beside which I grew up – my father took many films of them sitting on the eel weir or swimming gracefully through the arches of the bridge.

Now, in my ‘present’, they have become so much more. For over half my life I have been healing my emotions, my beliefs. I just never understood that on this path of an earth healer who works with serpent energies that that healing was so vital to the task.

Because our thoughts and emotions affect the collective consciousness we need to understand ourselves and how we relate to the world and to other people around us. The changes we make in ourselves, as we continue to heal, affect that field of the collective. The more people who heal themselves, the more others can heal. This is especially important when we are working with the field of the Mother/ Gaia. We work to bring through, and to anchor her thoughtforms. If we cannot tell the difference between what is hers and what is ours then how are we do that?

The swans, as energies, represent both the feminine, and the masculine, plus the deeper healing that comes when both are fully anchored in our being. Positioned on the left side of the crown, the female swan anchors energetically into the base chakra. She swims in the emotional waters there, plucking the nutritious green food that grows on the river bottom. This food represents the nourishment that is available within your emotional body.

This lesson was brought home to me recently when I was having a conversation with someone about not getting stuck in the negative stuff of our past. She said that it was better not to focus too much on the negative but instead to work on the positive. And she was right. But sometimes we need to understand what is fueling the present before we can change it.

I found myself telling her that when we are healing our baggage we often need to talk it out. As we do that the higher part of our consciousness, symbolised by the female swan, listens to what we say and is able to then pick up the patterns in the unconscious that are perpetuating the emotional/mental situation we find ourselves in. She sees it from a higher perspective, and like plucking the river weed from the watery unconscious, she pulls it from the psyche recognising what needs to be changed.

To give a personal example of this process and how the female swan works, I was talking to my friend about an issue I am currently experiencing, an issue I am trying to heal. While I was trying to verbalise what I was experiencing, I saw it from the higher part of myself, and recognised how the flow of the original experience and all its resultant emotions and beliefs, were holding me back. The flows in my unconscious were easy to see, flowing, like river weed, from that old experience into my present. I had created my current reality based on those old experiences.

The female swan is the part that recognises those flows. She is the higher self swimming on the water, not submerged in it. She does not drown in the negativity but can pull the issues up to look at them without being in them. In this process, we are actively working, not drowning in victimhood. This process of healing is important when you understand that we create our own reality. We do not always see that, however. It is difficult to accept that our current challenges are based on past events. But once we do, it changes everything.

Seeing how our current behaviour stems from beliefs we formed in the past, the cob, the male swan energy, makes his appearance. His protective masculine mind (not male, just masculine in energy), sees what needs to change, it sees solutions. If we are behaving in a way that is based on old experiences, and if we want to change our reality so that it is more in line with what we truly want, then we have to change our actions. We have to recognise that we don’t have to stay experiencing the same. We can create new actions that will change how we react.

It takes courage to make these changes. It is not easy to step into new ways of doing things, and often we have to take things step by step. We make small changes, changes we can manage. We do them in a way that protects our newfound understanding. That gives us back our power without disempowering the other person or people but that begins the process of creating our new reality. We don’t make them as a reaction or as an impulse, but in a measured way. We think ahead, we decide what steps we need to take that will allow us to make the changes we need.

All along the way, the female swan of our higher understanding helps us to ‘see’ what is holding us back. And the cob helps us to move forward, protecting the changes we are making but giving us the self-determination to keep going.

The male swan, anchored in the solar plexus, is the protective energy of the psyche up to the astral layer of the energy-field. Have you ever seen a swan busking? He fluffs up his feathers and opens his wings wide to make himself bigger. He charges across the water towards a threat to his mate, and his cygnets, hissing and threatening. He allows no other creatures to harm his babies. In a human sense, these cygnets represent the newly anchored self-beliefs, which may still be fragile. You have done so much work on building yourself up that you also need to protect those creations and beliefs from others who might want you to stay the same as you were. He protects what is important to you.

Energetically, he swims around you in the astral layer of your field to protect you from the projections of others or from their emotional manipulations. He teaches you to recognise when someone is ‘hooking’ into you, energetically. It takes time to learn to work with both energies, but it is a lifelong skill because you will continue to work with them as long as you are alive. They are part of you, and part of your healing journey.

The third swan, which is seen flying straight down into your field, means the psyche is now strong enough to deal with issues you may not been ready to deal with before. These may be traumas from this life, or a previous life, ones you decided before birth that you were finally ready to clear. These are issues that cause dissociation, a panic reaction to strong emotional issues that are too painful to face. The descending swan softens the impact of such issues and allows the energies that you have kept in safer parts of the psyche to enter in such a way that you can deal with them. You are ready for such work now. You have learned the process of working with two previous swan energies and have made space in your psyche for the new material; the male and female swan energies have prepared the way. You understand the process of emotional healing and you have learned to protect your energetic boundaries, and now this swan can guide you into deeper healing.

Once you receive this attunement the swans activate when you need them to. Not when you ‘think’ you need them to, but because they are now part of your energetic matrix they know when you need certain aspects of them to be present. In the meantime, they work in your energy-field, like software running in the background, helping to heal you.

If you are a healer, of any kind, you can also use the symbols to heal others. They are very useful for people at any stage of their healing journey. And as with all healing, receiving healing/therapy is invaluable when you are working at any level of your emotional journey.

Unmanifesting the Web: A Lesson in Letting Go of Old Realities

The following is a meditation my guides told me to do. They often tell me to tune in to accept what needs to come in.

When I closed my eyes, I see a red energy all around me and light codes streamed into my consciousness. The Reiki Master symbol, the Dai Ko Myo, expanded my energy field so I knew that what was to follow would be an attunement. I became aware of the red and black spider beneath my feet. She was clinging to her web, upside-down, wrapping silken threads around the eggs she had just laid. I was reminded of the fogou Chris I visited many years ago in Cornwall with its birthing chair and stone womb. There were many spider’s eggs sacs suspended from the ceiling, hanging from the damp walls.

This is what I wrote during that visit in 2006:

“The energy on entering the fogou was powerful. Just inside, on the left side was the creep. The doorway to the creep was narrow and low and we really had to squeeze through it to get inside. It was difficult to imagine just why it was there. I would have been much more careful if I had known how many large spiders there were hanging about. Egg sacs hung suspended from the ceiling everywhere.

The creep itself turned out to be ‘L’ shaped, and we were in complete darkness here, so we needed the torch. In the first part of the creep, before it turned left, we had to move past a boulder on the ground. It looked like a reclining woman. Moving past it and turned the corner to the end of the creep, we were greeted by a rounded stone blocking the entrance. It reminded me of a cervix, an entrance from the outside world to the inner womb.

I went back to the stone that lay on the ground. It looked like a seat and I felt an immediate urge to sit on it. It was like sitting in the lap of the Mother and I began to feel like I was in labour. I wanted to sit on this reclining stone to have my baby, as this is why I was in here and this was its purpose. When I said it to Chris, he told me, with surprise, that he felt this was a woman’s place for having babies, but he had ignored it thinking he was making it up. He felt uncomfortable being in there, so he squeezed back out through the narrow doorway.

I had a strong sense that the pregnant woman would have been helped into the chamber from outside, through where the big stone now blocks the entrance. Then she would have sat on the stone chair to have her baby, in the womb of the Mother. It was as if her baby was not only being birthed from the physical mother, but also from the Great Mother. When the child was born, it would then have been handed to those waiting outside the small doorway, as though the baby had been born twice. It would then be welcomed into the physical world of humanity and the tribe. A gift from two Mothers. This baby was emerging into the physical world of the Mother from the Mother’s other worlds.”

So, back to the present. I had the thought that this meant I was creating new ‘babies’, birthing new ideas and realities. With that thought, my energy opened from my creative centre, looking and feeling like an inverted cone, moving upwards into another dimension. Next, a spider, from a grid above me appeared. It felt more masculine. It had a brown body and it moved down from this upper web into my body, becoming part of me. I had the impression that it was some kind of desert spider, yet I could still see the black and red spider beneath my feet with her eggs.

I was now this large brown spider, becoming this energy, its legs extending out to each side of me. My guides then said: ‘Camel Spider’. They explained that it could go the distance. It had something to do with creativity, but not the same kind of creativity as the black and red spider. It was more like a creative energy on a level that isn’t the deep earth, but is more in physical reality. I was aware of it pulling in the silken threads of a web. Not weaving them, but pulling them in, threads of a web that have already been woven. It pulled them into my centre, (Hara), as it was recycling them. The threads were all potentials, old creative ideas. I could see some of them above and behind me, moving from some point in the past to a point in the future.


I pulled some of them in like pulling a rope, gathering them all up inside me, undoing creations, pulling them in so they can be rewoven. It was as though the web that I had created, at least some of those threads needed to be dismantled, to be recreated. I was unweaving the future. Letting go of visions of the future so that new ones could be created. I had created these threads of reality in the past and they were no longer necessary. They were built on old beliefs, formed during times in my past that would have manifested in the future. Old ideas of what I thought would be. But new threads are needed. My female spider is laying new eggs which grow, new ideas, new thought creations.

This masculine spider dismantles. It destroys the threads of the web, but he does it with intention. Un-spinning them. It changes my future, disconnecting me, my soul, from other places, other people who will no longer be part of my reality. This feels empowering because those threads I pulled back into myself then travelled up through my body and emerged from my crown centre. Long vibrant threads of rainbow web connected to my higher reality leaving me feeling empowered and steady. I knew I could completely trust in the creation ideas that I received from ‘Upstairs’, not those ones that I receive from outside of me, from other people. But completely trusting my ability, my own knowledge, myself, not the beliefs I get from others about what I can and I can’t do, feeling sure in my creative expression, knowing who I am.


The male camel spider, pulls back the threads of the ideas other people have for me, rather than ones I feel for myself. I don’t need to manifest a reality based on who other people have told me I am. And the female spider in the earth is busy creating new ‘babies’ for me, but old creations and connections need to be dismantled first to make room for them.


So, for those of you have received a brown spider in readings or attunements from me, this will help explain that the masculine spider energy is an uncreator, and unmanifestor. Yet the threads pulled in from the old web also feed you on some level. Each thread is a different possibility that needs to be uncreated, or recreated. The camel spider pulls in energy from old beliefs, and futures you no longer need to manifest. Each thread is a future that you’ve envisioned, or a possibility that exists outside of you. But it’s now pulling those all back iso that you manifest new realities based on who you are, not what other people in your past have told you you are.

The Camel Spider Attunement.

These old webs also affect the collective unconscious but in uncreating them you allow room for new threads to be woven. The new threads are ones the world needs.

The Female Creation Spider Attunement.

As a spider woman (male or female), you are helping to maintain the webs of creation, both those of your own life and that of humanity’s. As my guides explain: The spider energies are lines of force, the lines of light lie alongside them. When we say lines of force we mean they are like electricity lines, lines which allow a force to move through them. Lines of light are vibrational frequencies akin to sound and colour. These are healing frequencies. Lines of force bring change, a change in the surroundings through which they move. The lines of light bring healing to the consequences of those changes.
