The Brigit Flame. Part Five. St Mary’s Church, Crawley, Hampshire.

St Mary’s Church is a lovely village church, set back from the main street in Crawley. I had decided to drive through the top of the village, rather than the bottom like I normally do, on impulse. The village pond is at the bottom of this village and I like to see the ducks and coots sitting on the grass beside it or trying to walk across the frozen surface during cold spells.

St Mary’s Church.

This time, As I drove past, I had no intention of stopping. I had not received any energetic information about doing this church, no energy-connections or visual information to tell me I needed to do anything here, yet I spontaneously decided to stop. Sometimes, when that happens, it is as if another part of me wants my personality part to explore something. I usually have to give in because if I don’t, it tugs at me for days afterwards.

I parked up and walked the path through the very pretty graveyard. Inside, the church was freezing. I imagine it is too expensive to heat an empty church so they leave the heating off until they hold services.

As usual, I went straight to the Altar but felt nothing. Nada, zilch, not a glimmer. What was I doing here, then, I wondered. Why did I stop instead of simply driving past? I checked the time on my phone and discovered I had forgotten my reading glasses. Damn! Then I thought that I really shouldn’t be so negative. The feelings of irritation would not help me to pick anything up.

Looking towards the Altar.

Because I could feel nothing there, I decided to look at the structure of the building. Energetically, nothing was happening in this part of the church. It also felt like there was no energy here at all but I could not understand why there wasn’t. I looked behind me and noticed the fragments of Norman dogtooth pattern on the masonry of the arch. I felt like I was looking at the external wall of the building and that this part with the altar was added on years after the Norman building. There were two very distinct energy regions going on.

Dog’s tooth pattern.

I walked into, what I felt, was the original part of the building and when I stood looking at the altar from there, I heard someone say ‘Go back a little further’. So I took a few steps back and when I did, saw a bright Brigit flame ignite on the ground in front of me. I continued to watch it as it grew until it had expanded as much as it was going to expand.

Next, I saw myself place a green and white crown of hawthorn blossoms at its base. This is the energy of the ancient Feminine Spring rituals that we had been given the gift of experiencing a couple of years ago at the Bronze Age burial mounds on Magdalene Down, on the other side of Winchester.

Hawthorn

Once this had been anchored at the flame’s base, I saw a gold bejewelled crown being placed above the flame. This felt like a more Christian, Godly symbol, where the hawthorn was distinctly ‘pagan’ as if the two belief systems were being joined.

I had ‘brought in’ energy the previous day while cooking my father’s evening meal. Often, when doing something very unconnected with energy, I feel the energy coming in, activating in my body. When this happens, I feel the urge to raise my arms into the air to receive something or to bring down energy for some future work. In this instance, I was given a gold crown with jewels on it. It was big when it was above my head but as it moved over me it became smaller until it eventually fit snuggly around my waist. At the time I did not know what it was for, or why it was around my body, like a girdle (remember those?), but I soon forgot about it and got on with the cooking.

Now, however, I watched as the crown moved down to contain the uppermost part of the flame, just like the girdle. I have done this with flames before, but not with a crown. Usually, the containing energy looks like a wedding band, containing the energy of a flame and holding it at a constant frequency. It doesn’t matter how big the flame is, the gold band will hold its upper part so that the flame curves out over it.

Containing Energy of the Gold Crown.

The final part of this activation was the image of a priest swinging a thurible of incense over the area, allowing the smoke to waft over the bright orange flame. This dedicates and sanctifies the flame, blessing it. This image of a catholic priest blessing a Brigit Flame felt like an acceptance of some older, pre-Christian energies.

The energy of the Brigit Flame is a very different energy from the Magdalene Flame. It is a more earthy, creative vibration, whereas the Magdalene Flame is of a higher heart/thought vibration. The Brigit Flame relates to the Tan Tien in the human body, the creative centre behind the navel; the Magdalene Flame is a heart energy but from a higher spiritual level in the energy body. It allows access to higher levels of Soul information and intention.

There are seven energy layers in the earth’s energy body just as our energy-body has seven layers. The first level is the fiery lava beneath the earth’s mantle; the second level is water as it runs below the surface of the earth; the third level is the surface. These three levels make up the creative layers of the physical world. But above these three physical levels the energy changes. It is no longer physical. The layer immediately above the earth is a magenta, ruby layer, relating to the Mother consciousness. Certain sites are created to connect to this layer and we can create energy tubes to channel this living, rosy energy onto the physical plane. The MF (Magdalene Flame) is the aspect of the Mother that heals the wounded male energies and as such, it is an archetypal energy.

Magenta Mother Layer.

There are similarities between how older, prehistoric sites, and later sites, are set up to channel and hold both the energies of the Brigit Flame and the Ruby (the Magdalene flame is an archetypal energy of the Ruby/Mother energy). The BF is often in the centre of a circular site, where people would have been living, but the MF is usually at a gateway point some distance from the site centre but from where it can feed the entire area, adding the love of the Divine Mother. The creative energies of the MF positively influence the more physical creations manifested by the BF. In the past, before Christianity, the MF would have been known by another name, but we no longer know what that is. Perhaps it was simply Mother.

I was reminded of the manifesting energies of this work when I had finished the flame-work and had headed over to the Norman baptism font. I took a couple of photos and then something on the floor caught my eye.

Can you see them?

A pair of glasses. Laughing at myself for forgetting the principles of manifesting, I picked them up and put them on. I didn’t believe for one minute that they would be perfect. But they were, and I could write down all I had done so I wouldn’t forget it. It is easy not to remember important details later. They fade away like the mist.

I left them on the font before I left. Someone else might have forgotten theirs, or the owner might come back to claim them.

Thank you, St Mary’s, for the timely lesson around the manifesting energies of the Brigit Flame – and the perfect vision.

Sacred Fires of Brigit and Grainne.

Spring is Brigit’s time. Her festival is celebrated, traditionally, on the 1st of February, but fire-work associated with Spring, spans a number of weeks. Imbolc is a celebration of the awakening earth when plants begin to grow and the crone of winter becomes the virgin once more. Spring vortices become active, bringing in new energies and clearing out the old. Becoming attuned to Brigit you will feel this impulse strongly at the beginning of each new year.

Winter has been a time of quiet, or rest, the death of the year. In the past, Winter was seen as an old woman coming to the end of her life. She had grown from the young girl in spring, became the Mother of Summer and now is the old woman, the crone of winter. She is associated with places of death and with vortices active during the Winter season.

But spring sees renewal and fresh beginnings. Life has never really died, it has just been sleeping. During Brigit’s time, it is reawakened with the fire of life. After the Winter Solstice, the sun is channelled into the womb of the earth, fertilising the Mother, so that crops will grow and feed the community. Brigit is a Spring Goddess, an aspect of Sovereignty. (Sovereignty is the feminine consciousness of the earth). The fire festivals brought hope and the promise of abundance. After a long dark winter of eating food they had stored throughout the year, they looked forward to eating green plants and planting their fields with corn. It was a celebration of survival, of having lived through yet another long, cold season, and emerging into the light and increasing warmth of the sun. It was a time of joy and celebration and, I imagine, a certain amount of relief.

The festivals were not purely symbolic. They were energetic practices designed to assist the physical earth and to keep her vitality flowing. A healthy earth means healthy people. In becoming attuned to the Brigit energy, through the mantle and the flame, you become aligned to the spring focus of fertility and become custodian of sites flowing with the energy of the Mother Goddess that you resonate with, and hold in care.

The Flame of Brigit is the light that warms the soil in Spring. The fire is the earthly representative of the Sun, allowing the seeds to germinate beneath the ground. Above ground, she is Grainne, Goddess of the Sun, the feminine aspect of solar energy.

Grainne too, as a Solar Goddess, is the transition between Winter and Spring. She is quiet in Winter, pale and wan but still shining. When Spring comes, she grows stronger, her light warmer. Together Brigit and Grainne bring light and warmth to the world. One from below and one from above. Grainne’s flame is white, a flame of renewal. Her flames awaken sites that have lain dormant and unused for centuries. She is the Divine Feminine light and warmth of the world.

Once these flames is are anchored in your energy field you can light these fires energetically, at sites where this was once done. That light then travels through the network of energy lines, bringing with it the promise of new life and allowing the seeds to grow and to reach for the light and warmth of the nurturing Solar Goddess. The seeds that you plant are not only physical, such as when you work at sacred sites, but also energetic. They are anchored at religious places too, such as churches etc. and illumine that which has become stagnant. Bringing new life and new inspiration.

Workshop in Tintagel, England.

This was a workshop which Cheryl Brennan and I did a few years ago, in Tintagel. It was the first one we did together and was wonderful.

We had a terrific weekend, with glorious weather, and although we had a structure for the entire weekend, we ended up adding things that we had not expected to do.Our intention was to initiate people into becoming Guardians, Keepers of the Grail.  As a result of the initiations they would then ‘become One’ with the Earth.  They each worked on a part of the site with which they resonated. The needed energy-work, at a particular place, exactly matched an issue which needed healing in the person doing the work. In healing the site they were healing themselves and in so doing, healing that facet of human consciousness.

clip_image002We discovered, that our overall work was to anchor the female Goddess energies at certain points, points which had become predominantly masculine and therefore missing its balance. Some places were easy, once we figured out what needed to be done, and other points felt incredibly difficult. The energy needed to anchor a female consciousness, in places which have been, and continue to be, used as male strongholds, was a challenge. Some of these sites brought up a lot of anger for some, as it was apparent what the power imbalance had created. But now we were in a position to, at least, plant the seeds of balance for the future.

Its not difficult to see how this works. All you have to do is look at how long it has taken women to gain some semblance of power in a patriarchal world. Men believe they have to behave in a certain way and, as a result, women are forced to behave in another way. Anchoring the female energies will bring a slow awareness of the nurturing and powerful aspects of Woman into the lives of both men and women, with the eventual hope of peace. The wounded female needs healing as does the wounded male.

We had intended to begin the weekend at King Arthur’s Halls but, as we had a day to ‘potter’ we went to the Rocky Valley to check out the labyrinth. We spent some time beside the river and then did some unexpected ‘anchoring’ beside the labyrinth, carved into the walls! Just beyond both Labyrinths was a small room, which once formed part of a building, possibly the house of the miller. Just standing there was energising. We discovered, by following the clues, that there was no Maiden/Spring energy here, just Mother/Summer and Crone/Winter. As we were all women on a healing path this was significant for our personal healing. The maiden represents that part of ourselves that yearns to live spontaneously. She is full of potential, full of life-force, moving towards the birthing. Bringing this energy here meant uniting with this part of ourselves so we could become more of who we truly are.

We anchored a white flame here, which is a Brigid Flame. Eartha held the ability to channel the female solar energy, so she anchored it here. She was amazing! She so represented that energy, completely uninhibited and spontaneous. It was a powerful moment and we felt very energised by it. We manifested the physical flame by lighting a candle and leaving it there. The creative, feminine solar energy was now blended with the white flame of Brigit. An unexpected piece of work but amazing.clip_image003

The following morning we began the day by visiting Arthur’s Halls. The Merlin (male) line flows through this building and it contains a golden serpent energy. We did a meditation and anchored  three  different flames of the Divine Feminine consciousness, which are, Magenta, Yellow and Blue. It was very difficult to anchor the energies here because, as Anne, one of the participants, pointed out, it is used mainly by men. It is used regularly by the local Freemasons who own the building. The whole point of anchoring these energies at a male site and on a male energy line is so that the change in consciousness around the feminine can be sown within the masculine consciousness. It softens the masculine energy and brings it back into balance.

Later in the afternoon we went to St. Materiana’s church to do Magdalene Flame attunements, given to me originally by Jhadten Jewall, and to re-anchor the energy there. We didn’t know it, but they were preparing for a wedding there that day and we were just in time. They had decorated the church with white and gold, the colours we had previously worked with in the Rocky Valley! Cheryl and I carried out the attunements and we all then went down for the initiations in Tintagel Castle. The female energy line, runs beneath St. Materiana’s church, so we were ensuring that it was maintained energetically.

clip_image004On our way down to the castle Eartha suddenly pointed out the dragon’s head, right where we were going to do the initiations. His head faces out to sea. All the times we had come here and we had never noticed! We wondered where the tail ended up? I discovered a couple of weeks later that according to Paul Broadhurst the tail is at St. Nectan’s waterfall, which was where we were finishing the work the following  day!

We carried out the initiations at the Solar Portal, which is a point on the highest part of the castle and looks out on the setting sun, and each person received their ‘mantle’. The mantle is a layer of colour vibration placed in the energy-field of the person. We also created a new essence there. As we were leaving the hall we had a nice piece of confirmation. The tour guide was explaining the uses for each room when the castle was in power, and where we did the initiations was where they kept their cloaks!

When we had finished we pottered off to explore. Anne and I ended up in Merlin’s cave and I did a personal activation with her. The vortex lay just inside the entrance and, after we had gone through to the other side of the cave, we came back and Anne ‘freed up’ the trapped creative energy here. She and the vortex were one which meant that in healing the energies there, she was equally healing her own matching issues. A couple of years later, Chris Bishop also had an initiation here and met the Dragon of Tintagel.

The following day we began at Bossiney Mound, which lies on a cross-over of the male and female energy lines. There is a local story that on Midsummer’s eve a golden, round table rises up from beneath the mound and then goes underground again. clip_image005Cheryl led the meditation and we anchored layers of energy here, all designed to help heal the world and change the consciousness of those receptive to the energies of Divine Balance. When we were finished we went to St. Nectan’s waterfall. Jaynie needed to do work here so we spent some time doing that. This was her initiation, on the inner levels, into working with Divine Balance and the unification of the forces of Nature with Humanity. Doing this meant that she could work more closely with site guardians and the Elder Race. As part of this she then was to lead the next meditation, which was terrific and very powerful. Eartha, once again, picked up the discordant energies of the site, which Jaynie was able to ‘upgrade’. We also placed the intention for the site keepers to maintain the cleanliness of the place, which they weren’t doing! Jaynie’s work also involved creating a ‘holding’ structure for the energies to flow through, as they were not being ‘contained’.

To finish the day we all created a strong heart connection and commitment, to the healing of ourselves and the earth, through the site.
